Your Dark Sky Holiday Adventure

Many guests coming on holiday to this lovely area think about what they will do and see during the day, but never think about looking up at the night sky because they are so used to light pollution that they don’t notice the stars.

Glangwili Mansion is situated near the Cambrian Mountains Astro Trail and we have wonderful open dark skies. On a clear night, there’s nothing better than sitting or lying on the deck of our Stargazer Log Cabin in complete darkness, looking up at up at the star studded sky in all it’s glory, soaking in the peace and tranquillity.

If you are a keen Astronomer and have a telescope, why not bring your equipment along on your holiday - we would love to see your photographs of the stars. Alternatively, we have some modest equipment for guests to borrow e.g. Olympus 10 x 50 binoculars, Celestron Telescope, a Planisphere (star finder), red torches and cosy blankets for those chilly nights. Or why not book some expert tuition on the wonders of the night sky. To book an experience or gift vouchers check out Dark Sky Wales Training Services

But don’t just take our word for it. The Cambrian Mountains is one of the darkest places in Wales where the conditions for stargazing are perfect. Have a look at the link to help plan your stargazing adventure while on holiday at Discover Dark Skies .

Our closest Dark Skies Discovery Site is just 20 minutes car ride away at Llanllwni Mountain, where you will see spectacular, panoramic views of the night sky.

So what are you waiting for? Wrap up warm and go and marvel at the wonders of the Universe!
